A seasoned frontline fundraiser, activist, donor and donor advocate. I’ll continue serving donors as I have since 1996, for a better bottom line.
ABOUT ME
Spending my lifetime funding missions that matter. Farming and food security, endangered species and spaces, indigenous allies, kids, the arts and more!
Patient with a sense of resilient urgency. That’s how I’d describe my approach to fundraising. I've worked in annual, major and planned gift fundraising, securing sustained gifts, from middle class, high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals.
Growing up on a century farm is where I discovered my love of nature and how we can heal or hinder her.
It's little wonder I've spent the better part of 30 years fundraising for endangered critters, places and peoples, growing up on a farm, I came to understand the fragility and beauty of life. This experience guided me toward a career to secure resources for human rights, privacy, free speech and health, social, racial, feminist, and environmental struggles.

MY FINAL WISHES
As a donor I see myself not as a philanthropist, but as someone who backs words with action. My gift by will is a mixture of cash gifts in support of my hosts Activists with assets like real estate and any appreciated assets (investments that increase in value once sold or transferred have a direct impact on your final tax return and the amount your loved ones will receive). Defer taxes to charity, provide for family and be remembered as a champion for your charitable cause. There is no more sacred wish than a gift in your will or estate plans to charity!
Join me? Together we can honour our loved ones AND provide for the charities we love.

TESTIMONIALS
BRYAN MACKINNON, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, VANCOUVER CO-OP RADIO
"Hey Michelle, First off, wow, you made this easy for me to get started."
Project: customized year end letter template, questions and examples meant to provoke thoughts to make the case for both current and future gifts. Guidance on content, placement, a clear call to action and a strong finish with a P.S. to round things out.
Result: as with any future major gift by will, we may never know if a letter prompted a gift, but it’s certainly much more likely than never asking at all! Let your donors know what you want and how best to give to ensure maximum returns for a long time to come!

Michelle is an outstanding and highly committed fundraiser. I had the pleasure of knowing Michelle when we worked together as Executive Members for the Vancouver Island CAGP Chapter, and as colleagues in the fundraising industry. Creativity, compassion and great work ethics are Michelle’s hallmark! I’m so proud to know you, Michelle and I hope our paths cross again.
